SOUTH Tyneside's promotion-winning partially sighted football team signed off the season in style with a special presentation night.

The Northern Rock lads, celebrated their successful debut season at The Sundial when the borough's Mayor Joyce Phipps - herself partially sighted - Joined 150 guests to mark the team's achievements.

The team will play in the first division of the British League for the visually handicapped next year after coming runners-up in Division Two. In the summer the side which includes players from all over South Tyneside, are off to Dublin to take part in a tournament involving other English and Irish sides.
