YOUNGSTERS WILL HAVE A BALL!

A football coach has kicked off a new scheme to include all youngsters in the beautiful game.

Joe Barron, who has played for South Shields FC and Hebburn Town FC, will launch his football academy next month.
The 25-year-old, from Biddick Hall Drive, aims to include both able-bodied and disabled children in the tournament.

Mr Barron, said: "It's going to be a kids' summer camp and everyone can get involved.
"You don't have to be an experienced player either, it's about pushing yourself to the limit."

Mr Barron, who is FA qualified, also coaches South Tyneside (visually impaired) VIP football team.
The team was set up in 1994 by Lee Cawkwell, from South Shields, who lost his sight four years earlier. It's the only adult visually impaired team to represent the north east in the UK.

Mr Barron added: "There's nothing like this in South Tyneside, and because of everything that's happened with the World Cup I just want to keep younger people active.
"I don't think there's enough for disabled kids so this is for everyone to come together."
The academy will run from August 21, for two weeks, at All Saints Primary School in Stanley Street, South Shields.

Sheila Cawkwell, from Visually Impaired in South Tyneside Association (VISTA) praised Mr Barron for his enthusiasm.

She said: "It's an excellent idea to get both able-bodied and disabled kids working together."

Anyone who wants to sign up to the academy should contact Mr Barron on 455 0658 or (07837) 897591.
